Terms of Use

The terms that apply when you use this website. Please read them before relying on anything here.

Last updated: October 20, 2026

1. Acceptance of these terms

This website, kenheathlegal.ca, is operated by Ken Heath, carrying on practice as Ken Heath Legal ("Ken Heath Legal", "we", "us" or "our"). By using this website you agree to these terms of use. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.

2. Who we are

Ken Heath Legal is the practice of Ken Heath, a paralegal licensed by the Law Society of Ontario (licence no. P03106). Ken's practice is registered with the Law Society as Heath Paralegal Services. Our office is at:

Ken Heath Legal
1920 Ellesmere Rd
Lower Level, Rm. 003
Scarborough, ON M1H 2V6
Tel 647-889-4242 · Fax 647-345-8698 · kenheath2002@gmail.com

3. Scope of paralegal services

Licensed paralegals in Ontario may provide legal services only within the scope of practice permitted by the Law Society of Ontario. That includes defending charges under the Provincial Offences Act in the Ontario Court of Justice, certain summary conviction criminal matters, claims in the Small Claims Court, and proceedings before administrative tribunals. As a licensee, Ken is also a commissioner for taking affidavits. Notary public services: keep this sentence only if Ken holds a notary public appointment under the Notaries Act

If your matter falls outside a paralegal's scope, we will tell you and recommend that you consult a lawyer.

4. Associated representatives and referrals

Some services described on this website are not provided by Ken Heath. Personal injury and immigration matters are handled by associated representatives, and matters outside a paralegal's scope (such as impaired driving, assault, family law and catastrophic injury claims) by lawyers in our referral network. Each of them practises under their own licence, is responsible for their own work, and will have their own retainer agreement with you. Names and licences of the associated representatives and network lawyers, and whether any referral fee is paid (it must be disclosed to you in writing)

5. No representative–client relationship

Using this website, sending the contact form or a photo of your ticket, emailing or calling us, or subscribing to the newsletter does not create a paralegal–client relationship. That relationship begins only when we have checked for conflicts of interest and confirmed in writing, usually by a signed retainer agreement, that we have been retained.

6. General information only, not legal advice

Everything on this website, including the guides, the demerit points table, the Ontario POA court directory and the newsletter, is general information about Ontario law and procedure. It is not legal advice and is not a substitute for advice about your own situation. Do not act, or decide not to act, on the strength of anything you read here without first getting advice from a licensed legal professional.

7. Confidential information

Please do not send confidential or sensitive details through this website, by email or by any other means until we have confirmed that we are retained. A photo of your ticket and a short summary are enough to start. Information you send before then may not be treated as confidential or privileged, and receiving it does not stop us from acting for another party in the same matter. Email and web forms are not guaranteed to be secure.

8. No guarantee of results

Every case turns on its own facts. Any description of past matters, typical outcomes or client reviews on this website does not mean that a similar result will be achieved in your matter.

9. Fees

Any fee, price or estimate mentioned on this website is general information only and may change. The fees for your matter are those set out in your written retainer agreement.

10. Accuracy and availability

The law changes often. While we try to keep this website current, we make no representation or warranty that anything on it is accurate, complete or current. This includes the court directory: court addresses, phone numbers, prosecutor contacts and Zoom links are changed by the courts without notice. Always confirm details, especially your court date and how to attend, with the court office. The website is provided "as is" and "as available", and pages may be changed, suspended or removed at any time.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ken Heath Legal and Ken Heath are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or other loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, this website or its content, or from your inability to use it. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under the laws of Ontario, or any duty we owe to a client under a retainer.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Ken Heath Legal and Ken Heath against any claim, loss or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of this website.

13. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, the content of this website, including text, graphics, logos and the Ken Heath Legal name, is owned by or licensed to Ken Heath Legal and is protected by Canadian copyright and trademark law. You may view, download and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, republish, modify or distribute any content for any other purpose without our written permission. Statutes, regulations and court decisions referred to on this website remain the property of their respective owners.

14. Acceptable use

You agree not to use this website for any unlawful purpose; to submit false, misleading, abusive or defamatory information; to attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, its servers or the staff dashboard; to introduce viruses or other harmful code; or to scrape or harvest content or data from the website by automated means.

15. Links to other websites

This website links to other websites, such as the courts, Zoom, Google Maps, the Law Society of Ontario and government agencies, for convenience only. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices, and a link is not an endorsement.

16. Privacy, cookies and tracking

How we collect and use personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and Tracking Policy, which form part of these terms.

17. Accessibility

If you have trouble using any part of this website, or need information in another format, call us at 647-889-4242 or email kenheath2002@gmail.com and we will provide it in a way that works for you, at no extra cost.

18. Complaints

If you have a concern about our services, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. Paralegals in Ontario are regulated by the Law Society of Ontario, which also accepts complaints about its licensees.

19. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply in Ontario. You agree that any dispute about these terms or this website will be heard in the courts of Ontario.

20. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms at any time by posting a new version on this page with a new "last updated" date. Your continued use of the website after a change means that you accept the updated terms.

21. General

If any part of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce any part of these terms is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with the policies listed in section 16, are the entire agreement between you and Ken Heath Legal about your use of this website. They do not replace a signed retainer agreement, which governs any legal services we provide.

22. Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to Ken Heath Legal, 1920 Ellesmere Rd, Lower Level, Rm. 003, Scarborough, ON M1H 2V6, by phone at 647-889-4242 or by email to kenheath2002@gmail.com.
